Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4-6 hamburger buns
  • Coleslaw, for topping
  • Pickles, for serving

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to make the spice rub.
Rub the spice rub all over the beef brisket, ensuring it’s coated evenly.
Place the seasoned brisket in a roasting pan or Dutch oven, fat side up. Cover with a lid or tightly with foil.
Roast the brisket in the preheated oven for about 4-5 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Then, using two forks, shred the meat into bite-sized pieces.
In a large skillet over medium heat, warm the barbecue sauce. Add the shredded brisket to the skillet and stir until the meat is coated with the sauce. Cook for an additional 5 minutes to heat through.
Toast the hamburger buns until lightly browned.
Assemble the sandwiches by placing a generous amount of the brisket on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a spoonful of coleslaw and cover with the top bun.
Serve the brisket beef sandwiches with a side of pickles and any additional barbecue sauce, if desired.
Enjoy these mouthwatering brisket beef sandwiches, packed with tender and flavorful meat and topped with delicious coleslaw.
Leftover brisket can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat the meat before making sandwiches.
