Breads & Rolls

These whole wheat bagels are chewy and flavorful, with a satisfying crunch from everything seasoning. They’re perfect for a hearty breakfast or snack.

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup everything seasoning (poppy seeds, sesame seeds, dried onion flakes, dried garlic flakes, and coarse salt)

In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, instant yeast, and salt.
Add the honey and warm water, and stir until a shaggy dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 10-15 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C).

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add everything seasoning.

Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each one into a ball. Use your finger to poke a hole through the center of each ball, and stretch the dough to make a bagel shape.
Boil the bagels for 1-2 minutes on each side, then transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Sprinkle the bagels with extra everything seasoning, if desired.

Bake the bagels for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

These homemade whole wheat bagels with everything seasoning are perfect for a delicious breakfast or snack.
