Silky Chocolate Pudding with Whipped Cream

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 4 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar


In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.

Gradually whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth.

Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until the pudding thickens and comes to a boil, about 10 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped chocolate and vanilla extract until the chocolate is melted and the pudding is smooth.

In a medium bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
